Day -5 (5 days until the transplant)

It was a bit unsettling returning to the hospital and entering the 3rd floor... the place we've always known about but never wanted to experience it.


I thought that the 2nd floor was like a prison but it doesn't even come close to how the 3rd floor feels like.


3rd floor, room 9... it really feels like a hospital here.  Everything that enters the room needs to be disinfected with Virox.  Each person entering the room needs to wear a gown and mask and wash their hands.  Thankfully, when it is time to sleep, we can remove the gown and mask but if we need to exit the bed, they must go right back on.


The IV tower is menacing - 8 pumps versus the 2 we had on the 2nd floor.  It is really like a Christmas tree less all the presents below.


I can't stop thinking of what Manue is going to experience.  Far too serious for a kid who is almost three.  Discomfort, pain, nausea.
